    1. yep – called ‘informal settlements’ here. Shared water taps, rows of ‘portaloos’ on the edges, lots of the huts have no windows and often the roofs have stones or bricks holding the sheets of corrugated iron down. We are so lucky.

    1. that about nails it, Char. There are so many of these ‘informal settlements, mostly on the outskirts of the cities and they all look grim
